Which AIIMS CRE-5 MLT Posts Match Your Qualification?

Scope: This article explains the original CRE-5 notification dated 13 June 2026. Its application window has closed. Vacancy counts, eligibility and exam arrangements below describe that notification; later official notices may amend them.

Your course name is a starting point for shortlisting Group 17 posts. It is not an eligibility decision. The original notification also specifies science subjects, course duration, recognition, experience, age and other conditions.

Use the routes below to identify entries worth examining, then compare your documents with the complete official qualification row.

If you hold DMLT

Begin with the Lab Attendant Grade II and AIIMS Lab Technician entries. The original rows require 10+2 science and DMLT; relevant experience is desirable for the attendant posts, while B.Sc. MLT is desirable for the three AIIMS Lab Technician entries. [p. 60]

For many Junior MLT entries, the diploma route additionally requires a two-year regular course and one year of relevant experience in a laboratory attached to a hospital with at least 100 beds. The VMMC & Safdarjung row has its own wording, so check it separately. [pp. 57–60]

If you also have eight years of the required experience, inspect the Level 6 Technical Assistant/Technician and Laboratory Technician rows that provide a diploma route. [pp. 61–62]

If you hold B.Sc. MLT or Bachelor of MLT

Several Junior MLT entries explicitly provide a degree route alongside specified 10+2 science subjects. This route does not print the one-year experience requirement attached to the diploma alternative. Read the complete institute entry rather than extending this rule to every post with “Junior” in its title. [pp. 57–60]

With two years of the specified relevant experience, examine the MLT entries at AIIMS New Delhi and CAPFIMS. With five years, examine the relevant Level 6 Technical Assistant/Technician entries. With ten years, examine the Technical Officer entry at AIIMS Bhopal. [pp. 61–62]

If you hold a general B.Sc. plus DMLT

Read the CNCI Kolkata Laboratory Technician entry closely. Its alternative route names Biochemistry, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Microbiology and Biotechnology, alongside DMLT and the stated two years of certified post-diploma experience. This is a specific route; it should not be generalised to every Group 17 post. [pp. 60–61]

If you have Class 12 Biology and laboratory training

The RHTC Najafgarh Laboratory Attendant (Hospital Worker) entry specifies Class 12 with Biology and a one-year laboratory techniques training certificate from a government or recognised institute. DMLT is listed as desirable. Check age and the exact training requirement before shortlisting it. [p. 62]

Make your shortlist in five steps

  1. Match your qualification to an explicitly permitted route.
  2. Check the course subjects, duration and recognition requirements.
  3. Match your experience to the required duration, timing and workplace conditions.
  4. Check age and applicable relaxation at the relevant cutoff date.
  5. Verify the institute's vacancies and any later amendment affecting that entry.

Keep the official serial number in your notes. That makes it easier to connect the qualification row with its vacancy row. The full vacancy table preserves these serial numbers.

An exam result or provisional application acceptance does not settle eligibility for appointment. The original notification says eligibility remains subject to verification. [pp. 2, 7]
